Brown & Gammon Interview
We’ve got another interview for you today. This time it’s with Braintree’s finest; Will Moore (A.K.A. Brown & Gammon). Although taking a short break at the moment, he’s already released two dutty tunes on Circus Records, “Painkillers†& “The Bad Bounceâ€, and his refix’s of reggae bangers “Gwaan Plant†& “Ganja Smuggling†are proper high-grade tunes. We’ve put “Painkillers” up for preview and “Gwaan Plant” up for download, so you can enjoy these dutty tunes!
Name: Will Moore
Website: www.myspace.com/brownandgammon
Age: 22
Location: Braintree / Canterbury
Can you remember the first time you heard Dubstep?:
About 4 years ago… I was really into producing DnB at the time… love the stuff… A mate showed me some Rusko, I was blown away… was much like time I was just a wee lad stoned out of my face when someone popped the “Jungle Massive” CD on…
First proper dubstep rave I went to was SuperDubPressure down in Brighton… was the first and the best I’ve been to since!
How would you describe your style/sound?:
I couldn’t really… I don’t think I have a really definitive sound… yet. I’m on that long path of discovery, but I think I’m getting there. Each tune I make seems to vary from the last, it depends what I’m listening to at the time, how I feel and how many cans of Relentless I decide to drink. Expect some low wobbly skankers soon!

Tell us about OutRun?:
hehe! I introduced a friend of mine (who was into his metal, rock etc) to a computer and a synthesiser. I changed his life forever and guided him towards the light. We decided to make some funky chiptune, 80′s beats… it went pretty well, he’s extremely musically talented where as I’m more technical… put the two together and you can achieve some bizarre stuff!
We wanted to make some chiptune dubstep… that’s where 8 Bit Spliff came from which did prettty well when it got released on Dirty Circuit Records back in 08.
Have you got any more releases lined up?:
Not at the moment no. I’m in my last year at Uni… I’ve been ridiculously busy with my work so I haven’t had time to produce anything in the last 5 months. Am gonna put some stuff to labels when I can.

All the Circus crew ofc!
Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Funtcase… Killing it atm.
Joy Orbison – Hyph Mngo
Datsik – Gizmo
Nero – in the middle
…There’s loads… I’m not gonna go on
What else do you do other than produce?:
I’m planning to do a masters in computer animation next year so I’m really getting into that atm… Occasionally whip out the good old skateboard when I can… the usual stuff, see my lady friend… bum around… destroy my brain etc.
Shout outs?:
To anyone whose heard my tunes… and liked em! Niiiiice one! x
