What first drew you into producing, and more particularly producing dubstep?:
I first got into production when i was in college where i studied music around 10 years ago. But, only got into making Dubstep in 2008.
I made my first Dubstep tune for a laugh and soon got into it because of all the great feedback i got.
Can you remember the first time you heard dubstep?:
It’s a bit Hazy..
How has your sound progressed since you began, and how has the music you’ve been listening to lately changed the way you produce?:
My production has entirely changed in the way of technique. I now spend much more time on my tunes, trying to get a better and better sound.
In the beginning, I could bang out a tune in a day or two.. But now i take at least a week or anything up to a month.
When I started, I listened to metal and old DnB/Jungle, which hasn’t got the best sound… and now I tend to listen to less agro sounding music like, Squarepusher, Trentemoller, Amon Tobin and Pink Floyd.
All of wich is very well produced, and has made me look for more of the same in my tunes.
What is your production setup, and are there any special techniques you use to get your sound?:
Reason5
Ableton live 8
MAudio Delta 1010
Soundcraft M8
Dynaudio Bm6a’s
SE electronics T2
The main thing i do differently to most other producers is, I DONT use Massive…
What else do you like to produce besides dubstep?:
I actually mainly like to make Experimental/Tencho/Trippop stuff.
Hard to define really.. I like to keep my mind open tho.
Who are you top favourite artists of all time?:
Squarepusher, Amon Tobin, Roger waters and David Guilmore and maybe the Noisia guys
What do you get up to when you arent busy producing?:
Since you ask… I like to Wound Budgies with Tea spoons and Occasionally push Donkeys in rivers
Are there any producers you want to collaberate with?:
Would love to Co-lab with KOAN sound. and on a more unrealistic level… Noisia or Amon Tobin.
What are you views on the future of dubstep as a genre?:
I think its up to the listeners to keep their minds open to anything its the only way it will keep evolving.
If they do, then it will only get better and more diverse.
Top 5 Tunes at the moment?:
Depends… am I in a club or on my back in someones kitchen?
Are there any emerging artists you would like to make light of?:
A few good mates of mine make so amazing music, Gravity, Dexcell, Track D and maybe not so emerging, Asa (just really into his stuff at the moment)
Shoutouts?:
All the Dubsaw Crew,
My manager Pkay
My Agent TJ, Both Leg ends..

KOAN Sound,
Asa,
