We’ve got yet another label interview for you today, from a new label Diamind Records. The label’s been set up by Point.Blank‘s Vyron, (check out an interview we did a while ago with Point.Blank here). Check out the interview and remember Diamind, because with big artists like Culprate and KOAN Sound already on the roster you’ll be hearing alot from these guys very soon.

How did the label get started and why did you decide to set it up?:
I’ve wanted to run my own label for a while now, but I struggled to find the time and artists I needed to get it started. So, while being part of Point.Blank, with my companion Matar, I’ve been in touch with great artists and labels such as Dubsaw Recordings, Betamorph Recordings and Subway Recordings to name a few. Also, early in 2011, I became co-owner of Betamorph Artist Management where we’ve got an impressive list of producers who are upcoming or already pretty well settled in the scene. Thanks to these connections I was getting pushed in the right direction, and eventually created Diamind Records.

What sort of sounds will you be bringing to the scene?:
The focus of the label will be deeper sounds of dubstep, but there are also releases forthcoming that will contain IDM/Experimental sounds by producers such as Asa, KOAN Sound & Culprate.

What’s Diamind’s main aims as a label?
The aim is to get people into more futuristic, deeper beats from dubstep and IDM/Experimental scenes. There are so many great artists around that can touch every genre and these are exactly the artists I want to launch into the worldwide music scene. There is already a significant number of people who follow these newer beats, but still way too many that are missing these sounds.

Can you tell us what artists are on your roster at the moment?
At this moment we have Culprate, Disonata, Asa, KOAN Sound, KillaHurtz & ARtroninks signed on the label, they’ve all been a great inspiration towards me so I feel quite honored to have them on my label. I’m also in contact with artists such as Submerse, Tanka and Crypt for upcoming Diamind Records releases.

What can we look forward from Diamind in 2011?:
There are already a few releases scheduled at this moment, the first Diamind Records 12” will be a vinyl on Disonata’s name. Both tunes “Form Your Path” & “Evoke” were, in my opinion, perfect to launch the label (previews above). Also talking with Numbernin6 at the moment for the second vinyl release on the label. As for digital releases, ARtroniks & KillaHurtz are working on new EP’s. Last but not least, you can expect a major release from mastermind Culprate; his Colours album got signed on Diamind Records and the release will be featured on CD & Vinyl later this year.

How did you come up with the name?:
It took me a while to find a name that can be related to the music that will be released on the label. Eventually one of my close friends KillaHurtz came up with the idea to search a name that could be related to a diamond. A diamond is so pure and it’s often seen as a futuristic item. I struggled for day’s to find the perfect name untill I came up with the idea of splitting the word ‘Diamond’ in half and adding “Mind” to represent the thought and care which goes into every piece of music from our artists.
