Names: Flux Pavilion / Joshua Steele
Ages: 21
Locations: Hertfordshire
Websites: www.myspace.com/fluxpavilion

How did you guys all meet?:
well me and Doctor P have been friends since we were alot younger and have been making music together since we met pretty much, with Cookie and Funt I’d been playing their music before I actually met them so there was no real introduction needed. We all get on so when we play together its always a good laugh. The first thing Funtcase said to me was ‘you just wanna get fucked in your arse’ from across the street haha

Dj Picto – Streets of Rage (Flux Pavilion Remix) (Circus)

How was Circus Records formed?:
I had done a remix of one of Doctor P‘s drum and bass tracks called ‘Streets of Rage’ under his alias Dj Picto. He was signed with Swan-e and even though the remix was essentially a bootleg we all decided together that it needed to go out and we needed a platform to do it . . . then Circus was born.

Can any of you remember the first time you heard dubstep?:
Fresher week at university, first party I went to, Caspa and Rusko Fabric 37 in the cd player. A moment I will never forget.:

How would you describe your style of dubstep?:
My sound varies from track to track but I would definitely say epic! I love the kind of energy that you can get from dubstep so I try to squeeze in as much as I can. Most of my tracks are definitely arms in the air kinda tunes haha

Flux Pavilion – Meathead (Wheel & Deal Records)

What are your influences, who/what inspires you when producing?:
I’m a big fan of hip hop and trip hop stuff so I really like the kinda neck breaking rhythm that it can have . I try not to listen to too much dubstep otherwise my stuff could become to tainted and watered down, I like listening to all sorts of different genres that can inspire me to make something new, gotta keep your mind fresh!

Where are your favorite venues to play live shows at?
To be honest I prefer the small personal raves where they squeeze like 300 into a 200 capacity room and everyone goes nuts, it feels strange when you are too far away from all the gun fingers

What do you guys do when you aren’t busy producing?:

Well I’m still a student so mostly do my work and get drunk like any student should! Sometime just sitting down is good enough after a heavy weekend of playing shows.

What are the worst jobs you had to endure before you became dubstep superstars?:
haha I worked full time in little chef for a year and a half. Ironically I was head chef and I’m about 6 ft 2.

Flux Pavilion – Voscilate (Circus)

What can we look forward to from Circus Records in the near future?:
More of the same! We are upping the game definitely with circus takeover shows all over the place. Its gonna be a busy summer!

Safe one! Bigup Circus!
