Funtcase – Exclusive Circus Interviews!
Next up in our series of Circus interviews is Funtcase! Funtcase started out producing dnb about five years ago under the name Dj Dose. He began producing dubstep for fun but then quickly discover a new found love for it, and thank f*ck he did! In a short amount of time he has proven himself to be one of the duttiest producers around, which is of course why Circus were so quick to snap him up. Look out for his collab with Southbound Hangers called “Dubsteppa” which is soon to be released on No Comply Recordings, it’s f*cking huge! Bigup!

Can any of you remember the first time you heard dubstep?:
erm yeah kind of, its a bit of a blur as I remember numerous people trying to show me dubstep but I remember someone showing me Beasts in the Basement by Reso and things by Joker and Noah D and I thought it was alright, wasn’t till when I was properly making dubstep that I really got into it!
How would you describe your style of dubstep?:
Accessible energetic filth, and other ranges!
What are your influences, who/what inspires you when producing?:
Theres no real influence, usually I’ll get ideas while sat on a train or if I’m at a gig hearing all different kinds of dubstep. it all just flows out of me!
Where are your favorite venues to play live shows at?:
I played an outlook launch night with Benga, Loefah and Flux Pavilion recently in Paris, and that was sick! Manchester’s pretty sick too, and my hometown event called dubnium, big tings!
