Protecting copyrighted material is a huge goal for us at Dubsilo, we believe that everybody should have the right to distribute their songs for promotional use without the worry of having it ripped illegally or loosing sales. Often this can be looked at as a very catch 22 situation, do you risk putting your content up on the web for promotion at the expense that you will loose some sales? Or do you risk not promoting your content and know that you’ll see every penny?
It’s time to stop worrying. When you send us songs we take extra precaution in handling your copyrighted material with care, and unlike a lot of blogs on the web, we take steps to protect it.
- On Dubsilo we use a music player for readers to preview an artist’s track, using this piece technology allows us to ‘hide’ the download link to our users. If you don’t want us to give out a download link to the song, we won’t. Simple.
- Songs are not stored on our servers in full quality, the maximum quality a promotional track will be stored in is 128kbps.
- We won’t upload the full song to an article, only a clip of it will be provided. This means that nobody can even touch the full song.
- Additionally we also overlay an audio watermark on the track. This prevents somebody from recording/ripping the song from our audio player without having “Dubsilo” spoken over the top of the song every minute.
We hope you take this information into consideration and feel secure about your songs when you send them to us, if there is anything more we can do, just ask!
